You can choose to use one of the alternative internet providers to access the internet, if you prefer this instead of K-Net. You will however still be using your dormitory's network equiptment and K-Net's network equiptment, but the traffic will not count in your K-Net traffic usage.
For both of the following alternative providers incomming TCP and UDP ports below 1024 are blocked. Connection to the alternative providers is established through PPTP VPN.
JayNet offers a connection where you pay by usage. Prices are 12 kr per month for the base subscription and 1 kr per gigabyte for DIX-traffic and 10 kr per gigabyte for non-DIX traffic.
